Climate Change

*** DISCLAIMER – THIS BLOG IS FICTION AND THE AUTHOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF ANYONE WHO PERSISTS IN THINKING IT IS NOT FICTION ***

I must admit that we Old Vampires are interested in climate change, as we would like this planet to keep existing.

Some of us fund research into this, while others are blasé and more interested in what they are drinking.

I would fund this if I had money as I find it worrying that our current food source could diminish.

The more humans, the more choice we have and the more likely we are to go unnoticed.

We also like our forests the way they are; beech trees are likely to be one of the first casualties as they have a shallow tap root.

However, I have to admit that climate change has always existed; it is only nowadays that humans are living longer and can remember things being different from when they were children.

The humans living at Skara Brae in the Orkneys moved south because their lands had suddenly grown colder; I have personally lived through both colder and hotter temperatures than today’s.

This is why some Old Vampires think that the humans are making a fuss about nothing; others prefer to play it safe so we have a planet to live on.

It would be better if the scientists could come up with a way to store excess electricity made by solar and wind power.

Like Old Vampires, our funding of scientists is diverse.

However, the climate of this country has been steadily rising. Humans using central heating and more and more power will do that.

Instead of keeping consumption down, they squander it on things like signs as to when your bus will arrive. This really isn’t necessary as I am told they never arrive on time anyway.

Sometimes I think that I will never understand humans.
