Still Around

*** DISCLAIMER – THIS BLOG IS FICTION AND THE AUTHOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF ANYONE WHO PERSISTS IN THINKING IT IS NOT FICTION ***

I know The Hunters are still around. They are waiting for the chink in our armour that will let them back in to terrorise us again.

They have been quiet since our Ruler had them taken down for killing our servants.

Many of them died that day. We do not know how many of them are left, but they are probably licking their wounds and regrouping.

Others say they have gone for good, but they are underestimating such creatures. It pains me to admit it, but when all is said and done they are still vampires.

No vampire would let matters be. It may take centuries, but they will come back to find us.

They will not rest until we are all dead. We started this a long time ago by trying to kill New Vampires, so they made The Hunters to stop us.

I have written this down in a report and sent it to The Ruler. That was only a few months ago so I do not yet know what he thinks of it.

I have not heard that they will be moving again. Even the New Vampire Representative on The Committee is not such a fool as to tell me their movements.

He has enjoyed letting hints drop that he knows something. I had my Obligatees look into it and he has been meeting with known Hunters.

They had The Hunters followed and it seems he was merely finding them a suitable place to stay.

They looked into it carefully, as it would be their necks on the line whatever happened.

It seems that The Hunters are not content with the usual New Vampire habits of slumming it.

This post is sounding as if I would lie down and let them walk all over us. Instead I want to be ready and waiting for them with stakes in my hand when they do come back.
