Intercession

*** DISCLAIMER – THIS BLOG IS FICTION AND THE AUTHOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF ANYONE WHO PERSISTS IN THINKING IT IS NOT FICTION ***

You may be wondering why The Ruler interceded for Old Vampire Servants against The Hunters but not for Old Vampires.

He could not intercede for us as it goes against law which I, as Representative, have had to agree at Committee level.

The only reason it was ratified was because I was outnumbered.  It was sprung on me without warning and deals had been done even before I had sat down at the table.

The law states that The Hunters can target any Old Vampire who breaks human law, except for feeding.

First they stretched that remit to go after Old Vampires on the flimsiest of excuses and when they got away with that they took it out on our servants.

It is rumoured that the Ruler’s Men have taken out several of The Hunters to make his point known : namely that he will not tolerate any reprisals on our servants.

That fool New Vampire Representative thinks The Hunters will not turn on him and target New Vampires in the future, but what do you expect from someone called Nosferatu?

Since The Hunters have broken the law, there will be no reprisals on The Ruler’s Men by New Vampires.  If there were, we could call the Human Police down on them.

The Werewolves will not care what happens between vampires.  I doubt they make the distinction between Old and New and the Human Police will not intercede unless a law has been broken.

Human readers will wonder why murder is sanctioned by the police.  The law against human murder does not include feeding by vampire as before the police there have always been “rational” humans that said we did not exist.  The Human Police is unable to make law; they are merely the servants of it.
