Servants’ Wants

*** DISCLAIMER – THIS BLOG IS FICTION AND THE AUTHOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF ANYONE WHO PERSISTS IN THINKING IT IS NOT FICTION ***

Servants today seem to expect us to be able to wave our hands and change everything.

We take care of them and provide all their needs. The result is that they expect us to have all the solutions and it is worrying and alarming that we can no longer offer them safety.

Unfortunately The Hunters continue to attack castles and kill or maim any vampire they find.  Many people now have contingency plans for their servants as well as themselves.

Attacks on servants have alarmed and disturbed Old Vampires more than The Hunters attacking Old Vampires.

Our servants have always been completely safe with us, which is one of the attractions of service with us.

My servant Jane tells me that most of the servants expect an answer soon from their petition to The Ruler to do something about The Hunters killing or maiming them.

I asked how soon and she replied that they expect an answer in a month or so.  I am not taking this seriously, but have sent a report to The Ruler’s Men just in case.

I explained to Jane that Old Vampires need time to examine the situation and make the correct decision.  She got quite emotional and I had to spend a long time calming her down and reassuring her.

She is safe with me, as not one of The Hunters would break in here.  Not because I am an Old Vampire, but because I am protected by The Ruler, who would act swiftly and decisively if anyone in his employ was harmed.

I am often asked my opinion on the situation of The Hunters attacking servants and the viability of attracting new Old Vampire servants.

This means that I am invited to more parties and functions than I used to be, which goes to show that everything has its good side.
