A lot of the information I receive that supports my seat on The Committee comes from The Ruler or, more accurately, from his Men.

Anything I receive from The Ruler or his Men is taken seriously and much use is made of the information, usually at Committee meetings.

Other queries and information I investigate, decipher and follow up at my leisure.

Some of my information comes from anonymous sources.  These are usually rumours which on investigation I am unable to substantiate, so are filed in the bin.

More interesting are the signed letters with queries and information in them.

Recently I have started receiving a few pieces of information from the telephone, which Old Vampires are becoming used to making calls on, but when it rings it’s usually prank calls or wrong numbers and I have to wipe the dust off my telephone before I answer it at the last minute.

Computers are far too new for Old Vampires to use; the three decades they have been in common use is a flash in the pan to us.

I have to confess that not all information that pertains to be information is.  Some of it is returned favours, others are invitations and of course I get the usual junk mail that everyone gets.

Some of it is garbled missives from a drunk vampire who thinks it’s such fun to send me such things.  These are given a cursory glance, then are aimed straight at the bin.

I file all information at my house.  Anyone who breaks into a vampire’s house is fool indeed.

I usually put my feet up on my chaise longue with a drink while I sort through my post, my servant Jane dusting around me making acid comments and the telephone firmly buried so I cannot hear it ring.  I will unearth it when I have finished.
