Work on The Committee

*** DISCLAIMER – THIS BLOG IS FICTION AND THE AUTHOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF ANYONE WHO PERSISTS IN THINKING IT IS NOT FICTION ***

As I have written before, The Committee was formed so humans, werewolves and both New and Old Vampires could get along with one another.  As if.

Every member of The Committee (yes, even the New Vampire Representative) knows that the real reason is that the non-humans inconvenience the majority of the humans as little as possible, including such strictures as don’t kill anyone who has money and/or power.

In reality, we manage to stick to a more-or-less peaceful consensus most of the time.  This means that Old Vampires, New Vampires and Werewolves do not know about one another’s kills and most importantly, these do not come to the attention of the humans.

It also means that if we see another member of a non-human race while out hunting we walk away.  This avoids non-humans fighting each other and being injured whilst also giving the other party deniability of what is going on.

Meetings of The Committee usually cover new laws appertaining to non-humans, but can also cover problem people and interactions between the various non-human races.

Videos of our behaviour do end up on the internet, but so do videos of aliens which I can assure you definitely do not exist.

Part of my work is covering up and debunking such things as this which are not on the internet.

Fortunately there are always sceptics I can rely upon.  Humans seem to take everything said on the net at face value, which makes my work so easy.

The Committee does not cover visiting dignitaries.  The Ruler’s Men handle it for us and I assume Werewolves handle it similarly.  I can’t imagine New Vampires having dignitaries as they don’t have any dignity to start with.
