Communication

*** DISCLAIMER – THIS BLOG IS FICTION AND THE AUTHOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF ANYONE WHO PERSISTS IN THINKING IT IS NOT FICTION ***

I have had a communication from my ally Samuel.  You are welcome to try and raid my office and computer to find out what it says, as my security systems could do with a test.

To recap : Samuel’s castle was raided a year ago by The Hunters; his wife Eloise and their ally Simon were taken.

Samuel was one of the best intelligencers (a spy in today’s English) before becoming an Old Vampire.

After the raid, he disappeared to find Eloise and Simon, only notifying the Status Keeper that he was leaving the country.  Anything else would have put him in danger.

To answer a query, of course Samuel isn’t his real name.  After all, I am five hundred years old and have managed to stay alive for a long time.

Samuel started looking in the Old World; for those humans who do not know, this is a term for Europe.

From his report he has not spent much time on frivolities, but gone straight to the heart of the matter.

He has searched France, Germany and all related countries, which is impressively fast.  No-one there has heard of The Hunters.

He contacted me because he needs an introduction to where he is going next.

My work does not cover diplomatic relations with other countries as that sort of thing is dealt with by the Ruler and his allies, but I do have allies in other countries.

I’ve found it prudent to do this as you may find yourself alone in a strange country when fleeing from a violent mob.

Samuel will go all the way around the world to find out what has happened to his wife and I pity any Hunter who catches up with him.

The English centuries which bred intelligencers were hard centuries when even humans made their own laws.
