Work After Holiday

*** DISCLAIMER – THIS BLOG IS FICTION AND THE AUTHOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTION OF ANYONE WHO PERSISTS IN THINKING IT IS NOT FICTION ***

The only problem with having a holiday is that you have to go back to work.  I’ve been back for two weeks and it feels like I didn’t have a holiday at all.

It all seems a distant memory, although at the moment Adele will not let me forget that I used her name to gain admission to the caves.  She will just have to get used to it.

I already want to kill my bosses as I have a lot of work to do and they are just adding to it, asking me to do things by yesterday and then asking me why I’m not on top of my work.

Idiots.  Cretins.  Moronic fools.  I want another job!  Or, more accurately, I want to lie back in my castle and enjoy life, not doing drudge work in a prison.

I have lost my castle and have to work, but no-one said it had to be drudgery.  There are actually people who enjoy their work out there and I should be one of them.  I want to wake up and look forward to life.

Instead of which I wake up, look at the alarm clock and switch it off.  I then fall asleep again and have to rush to be at work on time.

I work with one colleague and two managers.  My colleague is a co-ordinator (whatever that is) and a worse bitch than the Werewolf Liaison on The Council.

There are too many chiefs here and not enough Indians.  On the other hand, I’m managing to get my own way some of the time by getting one manager to confirm it’s okay to do something.  The other two won’t contradict her, so what I want stands.

We Old Vampires are mistresses and masters of manipulation.  I feel that I am letting the side down by not having my managers under my thumb.

The problem is that I’m not used to the working environment.  I know Old Vampire politics better than the back of my own hand, but I don’t know human politics at all.
