Disappearing Allies

*** DISCLAIMER – THIS BLOG IS FICTION AND THE AUTHOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTION OF ANYONE WHO PERSISTS IN THINKING IT IS NOT FICTION ***

I have spent most of the last six days to no avail trying to find out where The Hunters have taken two of my allies.

It started off with a phone call at two in the morning last Saturday.  I’d been at a party and got back late, only to find that Samuel had been desperately trying to contact me.

The Hunters had raided his castle unannounced at eleven in the evening, thankfully when he was just getting ready for his party.

He was upstairs at the time and hearing raised voices decided not to take chances and changed to bat form to see what was going on.

As he left the house, he was pursued by two other bats.  Thankfully Samuel is good at flying, but it took him a whole hour to out-fly The Hunters.

His Vampire Servants later told him that his wife and a guest who was staying with him were taken.  It took me two whole days to get confirmation that The Hunters had them.

Samuel and his wife Eloise are popular.  This attack on them has mobilised the Old Vampire community in Britain, which is something that has never happened before.

Everyone has ignored the normal restrictions of allies, favours and Obligations to find out what has happened to Eloise and Simon.

Unfortunately The Hunters are New Vampires and apart from me, no-one I know cultivates allies from them.  So I do not hope to find out where Eloise is.

I have asked all my overseas contacts questions, but for me the trail has gone cold as they do not have The Hunters after their community, so we cannot mobilise them, whereas every Old Vampire in Britain is thinking that it could be them next.

I am waiting for several Old Vampires, who are talking to their overseas contacts to get back to me, but I do not hold out much hope.
