All This Work

*** DISCLAIMER – THIS BLOG IS FICTION AND THE AUTHOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTION OF ANYONE WHO PERSISTS IN THINKING IT IS NOT FICTION ***

Work, work, work.  Is that all you humans do?  The sheer drudgery of it overwhelms me at times.

Much of the time I long to drink my boss and leave him lying dead and bloodless on the floor.  Since he hasn’t got a spine, I doubt the lack of blood would be noticed in him.

That’s the trouble when peasants are elevated above their status.  They simply do not know how to behave.

When anyone becomes an Old Vampire we spend time teaching them how to behave.  They are Debutante Vampires until they have been deemed worthy of being full Old Vampires.

Even Vampire Servants are taught by other Vampire Servants how to be an Old Vampire, so why do you humans not teach managers how to manage?

From time to time my butler used to come to me and inform me that one of my Vampire Servants was to be raised to be an Old Vampire.

For all vampires we celebrate the occasion when they become an Old Vampire.

When a Vampire Servant is raised to be an Old Vampire, there is a ceremony that all the people that the Servant serves have to attend, and a lot of us Old Vampires who have no connection with the Vampire Servant attend anyway.

It’s not just a ceremony, it’s the beginning of an existence for a vampire.

A lot of Old Vampires attend because we wish to see if that Servant could be useful in any way to us.

A lot of us attend because when the ceremony is over and the Vampire Servants have departed to celebrate, we can relax and exchange information without danger of the servants overhearing us and passing the information back to their employers.

And most of us attend because it’s simply a good party.
